Seal identification
Identify My Hydraulic Seal
Use more than ID × OD × height. Add installation location and visible profile, then compare the result with the gland and machine dimensions before ordering.
Measurement guide
Measure the removed seal gently and, whenever possible, verify the machine and gland dimensions too.
ID — inside diameter of the removed seal.
OD — outside diameter across the seal body.
H — axial height / width of the seal.
Best verification — rod or bore diameter plus actual gland/groove width.
Machine verificationFor a rod seal, confirm rod diameter and axial gland width. For piston seals, confirm cylinder bore and groove geometry.
For a rod/wiper enter rod diameter; for a piston seal enter cylinder bore if known.
Tip: measure the gland and the machine whenever possible. A used elastomer seal may shrink, swell, stretch or deform after removal.
Make the measurement supplier-ready. Save the application, seal location, ID, OD, height, profile, material if known, rod/bore size, gland width, fluid and operating conditions. Those are the details a supplier or custom-seal manufacturer will usually need. Use the result to compare against supplier data; HydraResolve does not manufacture or sell seals through this tool.
Have measurements but still unsure?
Send the seal location, ID, OD, height, profile and machine/gland dimensions if known. Photos can add context, but do not replace measurements.
